Christmas Tree Workshop 2022Artboard 1.pngChristmas Tree Workshop

Saturday, Nov. 26.  1:00-3:00 p.m. or
Saturday, December 3. 1:00-3:00 p.m.

Christmas time is officially here, which means it's time to break out the eggnog and a few beloved holiday decorations. Back in the 1970s, tabletop ceramic Christmas trees became all the rage. These tiny tabletop decorations were likely handmade by the lady of the house in a nearby ceramics class. Now it’s your turn to create some custom retro Christmas decorations of your own. Light up your tabletop this season with your very own custom painted ceramic Christmas tree in our Christmas Tree Workshop.

Thursday, December 8th & Friday, December 9th

6:00-8:30 p.m.

Come to the Simcoe County Museum this December 8th and 9th to experience what Christmas looked, sounded and tasted like during the Victorian era. Inside, shop for one-of-a-kind gifts from local artisans and enjoy an antique Magic Lantern show. Outside, stroll along lantern-lit pathways and explore our decorated heritage buildings.  Warm up with a hot drink, and be transported through the snowbound forest on a horse-drawn wagon. Everywhere, hear the sounds of traditional Christmas music, and join in with carolers in our 150-year-old church. Make your own traditional crafts and treats to take home, sample some Victorian sweets – and of course Father Christmas will be here too!

Admission is by donation. All proceeds go to the Friends of the Simcoe County Museum, a not-for-profit organization that supports the Museum through fundraising efforts, volunteer work, and assistance with special events.

Visitors are also encouraged to bring donations for the Simcoe County Paramedics' Toy Drive.
