The Hallen family settled in 1835 in what is now called Oro Medonte Township. Twelve year old Eleanora Hallen kept a daily journal of life in Simcoe County during this time. Many members of her family also kept journals and wrote letters. Using these journals, and other research, the Friends of the Simcoe County Museum created an activity booklet all about the Hallen Family’s time as early settlers in Simcoe County.
